HYBRID HOME HEALTH AIDE

Program Objective

The Home Health Aide Program is a New Jersey Board of Nursing approved training program which consists of 76 hours of training (60 hours of classroom and lab instruction and 16 hours of clinical instruction). The goal of this program is to teach students how to help the elderly, the young, the disabled, and people who are chronically ill maintain their quality of life and independence at home.

Part Time Evenings: 5:00pm-10:30pm          Mon-Thurs (4 weeks)

 

CNA to HHA

10 Hours (you must currently be licensed as a NJ CNA)

Cost: $150.00

    HHA Program Cost

    Program Tuition – Includes: Books  $470.00

    Total: $470.00

    We require a seat deposit of $170.00 which will be deducted from the total cost of tuition.  The balance is due prior to the first day of class.

    **The cost to be licensed is $80.00 and will be paid directly to the State of New Jersey at the time of your online application. This cost is not included in tuition.

      Career Opportunities

      The Home Health Aide program teaches students how to help the elderly, the disabled, and people who are chronically ill maintain their quality of life and independence at home. Focus is on safety, universal precautions, moving and lifting patients, cleanliness and infection control, patient health, hygiene, and nutrition. Students learn how to check and report on vital signs, handle special situations, and perform emergency procedures. The home health aide will demonstrate knowledge of basic medical terminology, systems of the human body and related diseases and disorders, nutrition, and hygiene, as well as the physical, psychological, social, and rehabilitative needs of the client.

      Certification Exam

      Upon completion of the Home Health Aide Program, graduates are required to take the New Jersey Home Health Aide Certification Examination in order to become a Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA). The cost of this examination is $80.00 and is not included in the cost of tuition.  The fee is paid at the time of online application for licensure.
